Crime Alert- Sexual Misconduct

 In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the NY State University Police Department-SUNY Cortland is giving notice of a Sexual Misconduct incident, which occurred in Hayes Hall on the SUNY Cortland campus.

REPORTED OFFENSE:   During an off campus criminal investigation regarding disseminating indecent material to minors, the Cortland City Police determined that a 16 year old female was the victim of a Sexual Misconduct incident, which occurred in Hayes Hall. The incident took place during the first week of February.

SUSPECT(S):  SUNY Cortland student, Steven Estremera was arrested and charged with three counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors (E felony), three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child ( A Misdemeanor) and two counts of Sexual Misconduct (A Misdemeanor). 

It is the institution’s responsibility to make the campus community aware that the incident(s) took place.
